Ronald N. Cerny
Mr. Cerny has been President and CEO of Connor Sport Court International since March, 2006. Previously, he had been President and CEO of American Electronic Components, Inc. (AEC), a highly successful automotive sensor company that was recently sold by The Riverside Company to Siemens. Under his leadership, AEC substantially increased its industry leadership position and annual sales while successfully diversifying its business.
Before assuming that role, Ron served as President of The J.M. Ney Company, a vertically integrated manufacturer of custom engineered components. Under Ron, the company was a Connecticut “Fast 50” award recipient two years in a row, recognizing Ney as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the state.
He uses a dynamic management style that consistently motivates individuals, departments, divisions and companies to record-breaking performance levels through a shared vision with an empowered team approach. Ron earned a BS in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College and an MBA from Villanova University.
Ken Bayne, CMA
VP of Finance/CFO
Mr. Bayne joined Connor Sport Court in 2012 as CFO/Treasurer. Mr. Bayne began his career with Thiokol Corporation (now Alliant Techsystems) and worked for three years as a design engineer on the space shuttle project. Following earning his MBA, he commenced his financial career with Guidant Corporation (since acquired by Boston Scientific), a Fortune-500 manufacturer of implantable medical devices.
Over a nine-year tenure, he held a series of positions of increasing responsibility culminating as Assistant Treasurer of the firm. In 2005, he joined Bairnco Corporation, a NYSE-listed niche industrial products manufacturer, as the CFO. Following the 2007 sale of Bairnco Corp. to Handy and Harman Ltd., he joined DRMP Inc., a large regional civil engineering firm, as CFO. Mr. Bayne brings 16 years of financial and corporate accounting experience and 20 years of total professional experience.
He holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and a Master of Business Administration in finance and operations management, both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Mr. Bayne is also a Certified Management Accountant.
VP and General Manager of Connor
Mr. Isaacs has 19 years of experience with Connor and has been the Vice-President and General Manager for the past 3 years. Prior to this position, Jon was Connor’s Vice-President of Sales for 7 years. He has worked with numerous high profile customers including the NCAA, Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, Kansas University,
Purdue University, and the University of Cincinnati.
Jon has been a major force in setting the strong culture within the Connor Brand. He has an excellent understanding of the industry and solid relationships with customers and the Connor dealer network. Prior to joining Connor, Jon was in Sales Management for Koch Industries ($80 Billion) in their sports surface division.
Jon earned a full athletic scholarship for Tennis and received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Management from Missouri State University.
VP of International Sales
Mr. Gettig began his career with Sport Court in 1991, bringing a wealth of international knowledge and experience. Prior to coming to Sport Court, Andrew was awarded a YMCA scholarship to work and study in Sweden from 1982 to 1984. In addition, Andrew joined the Peace Corps and worked two years in the West Indies as a Youth and sports specialist. From 1991 to 1994 he was the Volleyball and Special Events Manager, part of the team responsible for domestic sales strategies as Sport Court became a player in the sports flooring business.
Between 1994 and 1999, Andrew founded a Sport Court dealership in Central Illinois, growing it into one of the most successful revenue producers in the country. In 1999 he was asked to rejoin headquarters to develop the international business, which accounted for less than 5% of revenue.
Today international sales have grown to 32% of all Sport Court products, and international sales of Connor products have grown 37% since the 2005 merger.
Andrew holds a professional degree from the YMCA Leader Institute of Stockholm, Sweden, a BS from Springfield College, and a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Ohio University. He is married and lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and two daughters.
VP of Operations
Mr. Buerger joined Connor Sport Court in February 2007. J.R. and his family relocated from Nashville, TN where he was Operations Manager for Moll Industries, an international manufacturer for the appliance industry.
After attending West Virginia Wesleyan College, J.R. began his career in Management in 1992 at Del-Met Corporation, an international supplier to the automotive industry. He held numerous management positions such as Plant Manager, V.P. of Sales & Marketing, and General Manager at Del-Met Corp. During his time at Del-Met Corp., he gained extensive experience in plastic injection molding, QS9000 / TS16949 Quality Systems and international purchasing. Moreover, Del-Met received General Motors World Wide Supplier of the year seven years in a row during JR’s tenure.
He has over 15 years’ experience in the automotive industry, and has a proven track record for increasing productivity while decreasing costs, and improving product quality and customer satisfaction.
JR holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management of Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University.
Director of Distribution Sales
Mr. Ure has worked with Sport Court for over 30 years. Most recently, since 2007, he has been responsible for managing sales through the Sport Court Distribution Network in the United States, supporting sales and marketing, training, recruitment and business development.
In his 32 years of working with Sport Court, Joe as helped to build the business in various capacities including sales, consulting, training, and as a Dealer and a Distributor in the Sport Court Network. After attending the University of Utah, Joe began working with Sport Court in 1978 as a contractor - Joe Ure Construction Inc. He still holds General Contractors licenses in several Western States. Joe became a Distributor for Sport Court in 1991 and in 2005 Joe managed Sport Court owned territories in the Intermountain West and on the East coast.
His awards and honors include ten Salesperson of the Year awards, two awards for Overall Sales Performance of the Year and twelve awards for Market Penetration Leader. By his estimation, Joe has personally built over 600 courts, putting greens and gyms projects and has overseen the completion of over 4000 Sport Court projects.
Plant Manager (Amasa)
Mr. Stromberg joined the Connor team in June 1986 and has since gained over 24 years of experience in the hardwood flooring industry. Conrad began his career as a Gauger-man, where he learned how to manufacture maple flooring that complies with the MFMA’s strict quality standards and tolerances for hardwood flooring.
In 1994 he became the Finish End Supervisor, being responsible for the quality and production for the finish end in the Flooring Mill, and the supervision of 35 employees. In 2000, he accepted the position as Mill Manager and became responsible for day to day operations of the flooring mill. In addition to his duties as Mill Manager, he became the Lumber Purchaser for Connor in 2005.
In 2008 Conrad accepted the position of Plant Manager at Connor’s mill in Amasa and is now responsible for all operations at the plant. He has been an integral part of improving efficiencies, reducing costs, improving quality and customer satisfaction. He takes special pride in the employee empowerment training program that has been implemented, being able to communicate effectively with the entire workforce, and seeing the good results of those efforts.
Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications
Mrs. Connolly joined Connor Sport Court in 2013. Prior to joining Connor Sport Court, she represented some of the world’s best brands like Michelob ULTRA, The North Face and Gatorade by helping them effectively reach their target market through sport, she served as Director of Marketing and Sales for bowling’s National Governing Body (USBC) and as Director of Marketing and Sponsorship for Super Bowl (XLII).
She has spent her career focusing on bringing brands to life. Her philosophy is if you can create an memorable way for a consumer to experience your brand then you will have a lifelong customer.
Brandi has her MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business and BA in Communications from Southern Methodist University. She is an award winning speaker, loves watching sports, and skiing and lives in Park City, UT with her husband, daughter and dog.
Director of Product Management
Mr. McCausland is the Director of Product Management for Sport Court and Development Manager for Sport Court’s Direct Dealers. He has also served in positions in training and personnel development, HR, and sales at CSCI.
Prior to joining Connor Sport Court, he was primarily involved in training and human development including projects with Stephen R. Covey, Zig Ziglar, Denis Waitley, Brian Tracy, and other notable authors and trainers, as well as providing coaching and consulting for Intel, Pfizer, Boeing, Cargill and other leading corporations.
He received a B.A. from Brigham Young University, has pioneered the development and application of executive coaching methodologies, and is the author of books on curriculum design and leading groups to solutions.
Director of Corporate Accounts
Mr. Sponaugle is responsible for the continued growth of national accounts including the US Military, Sears, Home Depot, Lifetime Fitness, Ace Hardware and other specialty accounts. Several product lines including PortaFloor™ Portable Event Flooring, PowerPro™ Dance Flooring, TopDeck™ Decking and MotorMat™ Garage Flooring are also included in his area of supervision. Additional responsibilities include expanding Sport Court’s relationship with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), emphasizing Sport Court’s status as the official modular court surface for the USTA. Sponaugle coordinates national selling and marketing court building programs with the Sport Court network and the USTA focused on capitalizing on the growth of tennis in the US.
Lee has more than 20 years experience in merchandise licensing, specialty retail and attraction marketing. In 1993, Lee founded his own confectionery retail novelty and gift company that served national retailers and specialty attractions around the world. Prior to the start of his own company he was employed by The Hershey Company from 1987-1993 where he was Marketing and Promotions Manager for Hershey’s Chocolate World. His responsibilities included marketing, advertising and promotions.
Lee received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University where he played tennis and qualified in both singles and doubles for the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and two children.
HR Administrator/Executive Assistant
Ms. Chatwin joined Connor Sport Court in September 2007, handling virtually all the functions in Human Resources as well as assuming the role as an Executive Assistant to the senior management team.
Prior to coming to CSCI, Cindy was in the insurance industry working with Farmers Insurance as an Office Manager; and later received both her licenses in Property and Casualty insurance and Life and Health insurance. Cindy was employed with the Won-Door Corporation as a Human Resource Assistant and Administrative Assistant for 15 years at their corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City.
Cindy received her Associates Degree in Business Management from Mountain West Business College and recently earned her certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).
